Householders Insurance - Building and contents policy

So far we have considered the insurance of buildings and contents in separate policies. This division is particularly suitable for those living in unfurnished rented accommodation, who should buy policies for contents and leave the landlord to buy insurance for the buildings where he is responsible for them. However, most owner-occupiers requiring insurance for both buildings and contents can buy a combined policy which covers all the items so far described. The advantage of buying a combined policy is that the minimum premium (around £9) is likely to be less than if two policies were bought to cover buildings and contents separately (about £6 minimum for each).
